If you or a loved one is having trouble managing anger, Saber Psychiatry can help. Anger disorders are psychological conditions characterized by persistent, intense, and often uncontrollable feelings of anger that can significantly impact a person’s life and well-being. While anger itself is a normal and healthy emotion, individuals with anger disorders experience anger in a manner that is disproportionate or harmful. Some common anger disorders include:

Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED)

IED is characterized by recurrent, sudden outbursts of extreme anger or aggression that are out of proportion to the provoking situation. Individuals may have difficulty controlling their anger and may engage in aggressive behaviors, such as physical violence or property damage.

Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)

ODD typically occurs in children and adolescents and is marked by a pattern of defiant, hostile, and disobedient behavior. Children with ODD often display frequent temper tantrums, arguments with authority figures, and a tendency to blame others for their mistakes.

Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD)

DMDD is also primarily diagnosed in children and adolescents and is characterized by chronic irritability, severe temper outbursts, and a consistently irritable or angry mood. Unlike bipolar disorder, which may involve manic episodes, DMDD focuses on persistent irritability and temper problems.
