Adults, Adolescents, and Children

You are not alone if you are struggling with a mental health issue. The National Institutes of Health estimate that nearly one in five adults live with a mental illness.

When thoughts, feelings, moods, and the ability to relate to others disrupt a person’s ability to function in daily life, it is time to get help. At Saber Psychiatry, we use a multi-faceted approach to treating mental illness. We believe in the conservative use of medicine and take a holistic, client-centered approach to psychiatric care and treatment.

Adolescents and Children

Dr. Sricharan Moturi, MD, is one of very few child and adolescent psychiatrists in the United States qualified in Pediatrics and Sleep Medicine.

All children and adolescents go through phases of development that bring emotional changes, thoughts, and behavior. All children become sad, anxious, irritable, or aggressive and may find it challenging to sit still, pay attention, or interact with others. However, when the behavior persists or starts to affect their ability to function in daily life, it may be a symptom of a mental health condition.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness reports mental health conditions in children and adolescents are very common, and 1 in 6 children and adolescents will experience a mental health condition. Early intervention and treatment may help to reduce the impact. Research shows that 50% of all lifetime mental health conditions start before age 14, and 75% start before age 24.
